Kabir graduated from York University in 2009 with an Honours B.A. in Psychology, and completed his honours thesis on the forensic reliability of eyewitness testimony. He went on to pursue his legal studies at the Queen's University, Faculty of Law before joining the the Law Office of R. Roots Gadhia as an articling student. While completing his legal studies, Kabir was a student volunteer and group leader of Queen's Legal Aid, a clinic which provides legal assistance to low-income residents of Kingston. During his time as a volunteer, he conducted a number of successful trials and was awarded the McDougall-Watson award for outstanding file management.
Kabir then went on to work as a summer student at one of Toronto's largest criminal defence firms where he was directly involved with a number of high-profile cases and assisted clients with charges of first degree murder, aggravated sexual assault, and attempted murder. He also has experience in complex and large scale project cases. Upon graduation, Kabir was presented with the Queen's University Community Commitment award in recognition of his service to the community.
Kabir believes in a vigorous, diligent, and aggressive defence that leaves no stone unturned, and is praised by clients for his ability to relate to their circumstances on a personal level. Kabir has a particular interest in representing clients charged with firearms offences and police misconduct.
